Hello! Hola! We’re Eric and Matthew!

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We really hope you feel our joy and commitment to becoming awesome dads. Ever since high school, when we first met over 13 years ago, the idea of being dads has been close to our hearts. Having a loving family means everything to us and we’re confident we have so much love and support to offer a child.

Our Story

When we met in high school, we hit it off with our shared focus on learning and improving ourselves. Our first date took place on a chilly December afternoon. We chatted about school, our dreams and our families. We both shared our desire to become dads someday.

Since then, we’ve only grown closer. The love and mutual respect we have for one another is why we are both confident that our marriage is lifelong. We have so many things we want to share with our child. We both love to travel, learn about new cultures, spend time in nature and cook. We hope our child inherits our empathy, love of life and strong moral compass.

Matthew has been my guiding light and north star since the day I met him. I instantly fell in love with his brown eyes and kind smile. He’s so very calm and patient with everyone. He’s not judgmental and has a pure heart. I feel incredibly fortunate to know him and even more proud to be married to him. I wouldn’t be where I am in life without him.

When my dad passed away, Matthew was there for me and my family every step of the way. He supported us through the toughest times and never faltered. My family loves and cherishes Matthew. My mom calls him her ‘bonus son’.

He’s an amazing uncle to our nephew, Ayden, and adores our two dogs, Mollie and Luna. He spoils them rotten! Although I think I’ll always be tasked with diaper duty, I have no doubt in my mind that Matthew will be the best dad ever!

Eric is someone you enjoy being around. He’ll always find something to say that will lead to a thought-provoking conversation or a good laugh. From our first date, I knew he was someone who would hold a special place in my heart.

Through life’s ups and downs, he has continued to find a positive path forward.  We have grown so much together throughout the years. I’m so proud of Eric and the accomplishments he’s made in life. He pushes himself to be better every day.

I’ve watched him be an amazing ‘Tio’ to our nephew Ayden. He’s great to all of our friends’ children. His passion for growing our family was, and remains, something I love about him.  There is no doubt in my mind that Eric will be an amazing father and I look forward to continuing my life with him.

Openness and Adoption

It’s never been a doubt in our minds that we would grow our family through adoption, and we believe openness is good for everyone involved. With that said, we understand that openness can be a tough conversation to have. Whether that involves reoccurring outings, the occasional photo or somewhere in-between, we look forward to defining our shared relationship together. You have our commitment that we’re open to what makes you, and our child, feel the most supported.

Our Family

Family isn’t just a word to us; it’s the source of our strength and the wellspring of our love. Though our families reside in Texas, we make it a priority to visit several times each year. These visits are cherished opportunities to reconnect, share laughter and create lasting memories. Our families hold a special place in our hearts, and their influence has shaped us into the men we are today. We’ve been fortunate to experience the unwavering support, guidance and love from our parents throughout our lives. However, we must also acknowledge the void left by the loss of our loved ones. Eric lost his father in 2011 and Matthew lost his mother in 2023. We believe that our child will have two guardian angels watching over them with their love shining down.

As we embark on this journey of parenthood, we carry with us the values and traditions instilled by our families. We’re determined to create a nurturing and supportive environment where our child can thrive, surrounded by the love of not only their two dads but also the cherished memories and teachings passed down through generations.
