Nurses, counselors and hospital social workers are valued partners in providing information about health care. When an expectant parent requests a referral for adoption, The Cradle is a trusted source for helping the expectant parent explore their options and finding the child a loving home.
If the baby is already born, we can have a counselor visit with the mother at the hospital before discharge. Illinois parents can utilize The Cradle’s nursery for temporary care while they are exploring their options. Moms living in Indiana also have temporary care options that their case worker will explore with them
The Cradle offers in-service trainings on adoption topics, and CEUs for social workers and CEs for nurses are available.
