We are Jeffrey & Jeff. We are grateful you are taking the time to learn about us and considering us as part of your journey! While this is not our first time in this space, having adopted our son, Oliver, in 2023, we know that every experience is different and we want to honor you in yours. We promise to share the same dream of providing the best life possible for your child. We promise to be open with them, ensure they know where they came from and allow them the opportunity to connect with their own roots. We would love to know more about you and build a relationship that grows over time.
About Us
No one plans on meeting someone with the same name and starting a life together, but we could not be more grateful that it happened this way! We met while working at the Children’s Hospital and both continue to work in healthcare. Jeffrey works as a nurse in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU with a team of healthcare professionals that literally fix the broken hearts of children. Jeff has worked in healthcare operations for more than 10 years. His interactions with oncology patients on a daily basis definitely puts life into perspective and proves how resilient people can truly be.
About Jeffrey, In Jeff’s Words
There are many things that I love about Jeffrey, and I honestly could speak about him constantly but he would instantly tell me to “shut up” or “ew feelings.” My favorite thing about Jeffrey is that he makes me laugh every single day, which is something I did not know I needed. He can find light in the darkest situation and is the most thoughtful person I have ever met; he remembers the littlest details which every time makes me fall more in love with him. One of the greatest joys of my life is watching my husband be a father. Any kid would be lucky to have him as a dad and I am even more lucky that he is my best friend and husband. I often tell people that I hope they get to experience the love Jeffrey and I have at least once in their lifetime because I truly feel it’s one for the books. He makes me a better person and I could not have chosen a better person to do life with.
About Jeff, In Jeffrey’s Words
Jeff is the best person to come home to on the hardest days. When he meets someone new, he will lean into the handshake and say “I’m a hugger!” and although I cringe at the thought of hugging strangers, sometimes a hug from him is the perfect remedy for a tough day. I will never understand his obsession with decorative pillows, but without his love for home design, our house would be a mess. We have different interests, but he will always go all in on any adventure I throw at him, unless it involves eating seafood. He has always pushed me to be the best I can be and will always support me, even in my most ridiculous ideas. Jeff has always been a great partner, but watching him be Ollie’s dad, and doing it together, has made our relationship even stronger.
About Oliver
At two months old, Oliver joined our family through the Cradle and our lives have not been the same since. Parenthood has given us a whole new world to explore, and we cannot wait to continue this adventure as our family continues to grow.
Oliver is the sweetest, happiest, hungriest, most social butterfly. When he isn’t throwing his toys all around the house or playing fetch with the dogs, he is probably snacking or wanting to be chased around. Considering how much he loves his cousins and any other kid he meets, Oliver would absolutely thrive as a big brother!
Our Home
We spent four years living in Denver, Colorado, but when conversations about starting a family came up, we knew we wanted to do that back in Illinois. Being away showed us how much we took the midwestern charm of Chicago for granted, and that it truly had everything we needed, minus the mountain backdrop. When we moved back, we found the most charming 100+ year old home just outside of the city. We are walking distance to a park, a short drive to multiple family members and close enough to enjoy all the museums, beaches and amazing food that the city has to offer.
