Hello,

This is likely a difficult time for you, so the fact that you are even reading our profile means a lot to us. We hope that you will enjoy a peek inside our lives and enjoy getting an idea of the type of people we are and the parents we hope to be. We are so ready to be parents and we couldn’t be more excited at the possibility. We don’t know what the future holds but can promise we will have a loving home and family for your child. We wish you comfort and peace as you find your path forward.

Our Story

We met in France at a mutual friend’s birthday party when Celine was 14 and Julien was 16. It was love at first sight and we started dating almost instantly. We were young and living with our parents, so it was not always easy to see each other as much as we would like, but we were living close enough to see each other every weekend.

After getting our diplomas we bought a house in Wasselonne, a little town in the countryside. After dating for 11 years, we got engaged after a lovely dinner prepared by Julien and got married in the same town in 2011.

A job opportunity gave us the chance to move from France to the United States in 2017. Today we are permanent residents and after over seven years in Chicago, we know that this is the place we want to live and raise our child.

Celine Told by Julien

Celine was born in Strasbourg, France, and has two younger brothers. Celine is the kindest person I know, always trying to help others. She is very dedicated to her job as an assistant teacher at the Lycee Francais of Chicago. I can tell working with 3-year-old children makes her so happy.

Celine is a perfectionist. She has much more patience than me and that’s what attracts us and makes a good balance in our everyday life. She’s a very good cook and I like when she’s preparing good meals for our friends and me.

Julien Told by Celine

Julien was also born in Strasbourg, France, and has one younger sister and one younger brother.

He’s a talented baker and pastry chef who has traveled around the world to teach and share his knowledge. He’s always supporting and encouraging me in our everyday life. I feel that we could climb any mountain if we are side by side. Julien is a dynamic person, always joking and having fun.

Our Life

Our families are living in France, but we have a great group of friends that have become a part of our family. We love spending time together, cooking and sharing good food. Chicago is a beautiful city to discover. During the summer we spend most of our time by the lake, boating and grilling with friends and the harbor community. Julien’s favorite activity in the summer is to wake up early to enjoy the sunrise on the lake.

We like to ride our bikes or simply walk on the lakefront and enjoy the Chicago skyline. During winter, we like to visit different museums that the city has to offer and we love to support our local sports teams. We try to travel back to France at least once a year to visit family and celebrate birthdays, weddings or just time together.

What we Hope to Teach our Child

We will teach our child to always ask questions, always take the opportunity to meet someone and learn something new, to have an open mind and be respectful toward people from any culture or ethnicity. We plan to raise our child to be bilingual, speaking French and English, or even more.

No matter what background our child comes from, we will work very hard to surround him or her with their culture. We promise to teach our child where they come from and all aspects of their background. We love to learn and plan to teach our child all cultures.

Thoughts About Adoption and Openness

We will welcome the level of openness that you feel comfortable with. We embrace the possibility of visits, letters, phone calls, emails and pictures. We also understand your wishes should you choose otherwise in regard to openness. Most importantly, we hope to create a life for your child where they feel safe and knowledgeable about how they came into this world and our lives.
