The Adoption Legal Process

Speakers: Attorney Genie Miller Gillespie has been practicing law since 1993, primarily in the area of adoption and guardianship. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and has helped hundreds of couples and individuals realize their dreams of parenthood.

This required workshop is designed to help prepare you to become an adoptive parent. Among the topics you will explore are:

  • Understand the legal steps required for a successful adoption
  • Understand the legal risks sometimes associated with adoption

1.5 hours DCFS Training

Pre-requisite: Meeting with Cradle Counselor and Completion of Parenting Through Adoption:101

Class Time: December 9, 2025 Tuesday: 6:30p.m. to 8p.m.

Class Location: Microsoft Teams, link will be given closer to the date of the event
