Yes! The Cradle is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means that monetary donations are 100% tax-deductible. The Cradle’s Tax ID Number (EIN) is 45-0506764.

However, certain donations in which the donor receives a good or service (e.g., event tickets or merchandise) are not tax deductible or may only be partially deductible. We recommend consulting with a tax professional for specific advice regarding your individual tax situation.

Yes. Recurring donations provide reliable, year-round support for families and allow us to plan more thoughtfully for the future. To make a recurring donation, simply select the “Recurring Donation” button on our donation form when giving online.

Yes! There are many different ways for individuals, groups and companies to raise funds for The Cradle. The Cradle’s biggest peer fundraising event of the year is Giving Tuesday, a national day of philanthropy celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Pro bono support is greatly appreciated. If you are able to donate professional services like graphic design support, legal advice, financial services, etc., it means more of our budget can go directly toward our mission of uplifting children and families. Yes! To help keep the Cradle Nursery fully stocked, you can order much-needed supplies like diapers, rash cream, thermometers and more through our Amazon registry and have them sent directly to The Cradle (ATTN: Nursery, 2049 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201).

Please note: We do NOT accept donations of used items such as car seats, baby and children’s clothes, adult clothing, blankets and accessories, and open packages of diapers.

We welcome and appreciate volunteers who share our passion for supporting children and families in need. All volunteer opportunities are posted on our Volunteer page as they become available.

If you donated online, we will automatically send a receipt to the email you used to make your gift. If you donated by mail, we will send a physical acknowledgement letter to the mailing address you provided within 7 business days of your gift being processed.

Yes. You can make your gift in commemoration of a friend or loved one under the “Gift Information” section of our online donation form. If you are donating by check, include “in memory/honor of [name]” in the memo line.

You can also purchase a commemorative brick, which is custom engraved with a name, anniversary or message and permanently displayed in the brick walkway outside our building.
