We’re Mike and Adam from Chicago, and we’re excited to grow our family through adoption. Our home is a warm, creative space filled with laughter, curiosity and love — and we can’t wait to share that with a child. We hope this profile gives you a true sense of who we are, what we value and the kind of family we hope to build together.
About Us
We met on Match.com while Mike was working on cruise ships, and we quickly connected over our shared values and love of adventure. We’re both down-to-earth, easy-going and reliable — qualities that made it easy to trust each other from the start. Adam even flew to Puerto Rico for our first date! After six wonderful years together, we married in 2024 surrounded by family and friends who are deeply supportive of our adoption journey.
We love to travel, whether it’s a weekend road trip or exploring new places around the world. Together we’ve wandered through cities across the U.S., visited beaches and mountains abroad and discovered how much we enjoy learning about new cultures — and about each other — along the way. At home, we’re happiest cooking dinner, hosting game nights or relaxing with our pets, Mini and Fiat. Wherever we go, we bring a sense of curiosity, humor and teamwork that we can’t wait to share with a child.
Meet Adam
Adam grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, where his parents taught him to “work hard and be kind.” He’s a software engineer who loves mentoring kids through a STEM program, staying active with triathlon training and enjoying Chicago’s lakefront. Thoughtful and curious, Adam has a knack for turning everyday moments into fun adventures. He’s excited to share his sense of wonder — and definitely his love of bad jokes — with a child.
Meet Mike
Mike was raised in Illinois, surrounded by music, family and creativity. A filmmaker and writer, he’s traveled the world — even to Antarctica — and still approaches life with curiosity and imagination. He’s warm, loyal and thoughtful, with a calm presence that helps keep everything in perspective. Mike can’t wait to share his love of storytelling, art and playfulness with a child.
Our Home & Family
We live in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, just a short walk from Lake Michigan, with great schools, playgrounds and family-friendly parks. Our home is a cozy, modern condo where we love hosting friends, holidays (especially Halloween and Thanksgiving) and movie nights. Mike plans to be a stay-at-home dad, and Adam’s flexible work schedule will allow him to share in parenting and daily life. Both of our families — Mike’s in Illinois and Adam’s in Pennsylvania — are overwhelmingly supportive of our decision to adopt.
Family means so much to us, and we feel lucky that ours have blended so naturally. Many of our relatives met for the first time at our wedding, and it was wonderful to see those bonds form — some even started on Facebook beforehand! Our close circle of friends is equally important to us. We celebrate birthdays, holidays and gatherings together, and they can’t wait to welcome a new little one into the group.
