Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile. Our names are Marc & Joshua and we deeply desire to build a family unit filled with love, happiness and support. We are honored that you are taking the time to get to know us as you consider adoption. We are hopeful this will give you a glimpse into our life.
During our first date in the Spring of 2019, we shared with each other how our relationships with our grandparents shaped our lives and helped influence the people we have become as adults. We discussed how important family is to our lives and how we hope to one day have our own family.
We are Joshua and Marc, living in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. From the beginning of our relationship, we both knew we wanted to find a partner who enjoyed traveling the world and seeing what life has to offer. We have integrated traveling into our lives and enjoy a good road trip or adventure across the ocean. We enjoy supporting local businesses and advocacy in Chicago.
We were married in 2023, surrounded by our closest family and friends. We are eager to become parents and share our love for life with them!
Born in Chicago, Illinois, I’ve lived in different cities in the US and abroad but became an adult and found home here in Chicago. I’m unapologetically myself, and I welcome everyone I meet and create space to engage and embrace learning. Outside of working as an emergency room trauma nurse, I find time to embrace being a visible asthmatic runner for an LGBTQIA+ charity in the community. I am a foodie and enjoy taking Joshua to new restaurants throughout the city. I enjoy traveling, quality time with my chosen family and attending festivals. I also find great pleasure in reading a good book in the comfort of our home.
Growing up in a small town in Iowa, I’ve fallen in love with the diversity and inclusivity of Chicago. As a public elementary school administrator, I am driven by cheering my students on at sporting events and theater or music productions while also striving to help educators support all students. When I am not supporting my school community, I enjoy travel (especially road trips), attending concerts or theater productions and cherishing moments with our families. I am also Marc’s biggest fan during his marathons and look forward to bringing our kiddo along to cheer! I am also a strong advocate for human rights, student needs and worker rights, both through organizational efforts and participation in demonstrations and civil disobedience.
