About Us
We met at work in downtown Chicago during the summer of 2008. Within a month of us meeting each other, we decided to go on a date. From there, our relationship continued to grow, even as we dated long-distance for the next six months.
We continued dating for a few years and married on a blazing hot day in August, 2012. We had a Chicago wedding with pictures taken throughout the city, and a reception near the Sears (Willis) Tower.
Chris Talks About Jocelyn
She has a bright outlook on life and chooses to make the best of any situation.
She was raised in the South Shore area of Chicago with a tight-knit and large family. Her family has embraced me as one of their own and after meeting her family, you can definitely see where Jocelyn got her positive attitude.
Jocelyn plays a large role and spends a lot of her free time volunteering for Lost Boyz Inc., a South Shore nonprofit that provides after-school and weekend activities for kids and young adults. When relaxing around the house, the TV will most likely be playing Girlfriends, Snapped or The Simpsons and Jocelyn will be nearby snuggling under a blanket.
Jocelyn Talks About Chris
There is so much to say about this guy! He has to be the kindest person I've ever met. Everyone he meets really likes him, so I'm sure you will too! Our couple's hashtag is #IGotLucky because that's how I really feel about Chris. He's smart (he works in IT), he's funny (he can make me smile in any situation), and he's really handy. Every renovation done to our home was completed by Chris.
Chris and I have drastically different tastes in music. Chris loves 90's alternative, oldies, and current pop songs. We share a Spotify account, which I'm sure is quite confusing to the algorithm. He'll watch any television show or movie, as long as it has positive reviews. Currently, 'The Walking Dead' and 'This Is Us' are a couple of his favorites.
Our Families and Friends
Jocelyn is really close to her family, texting and talking to her parents and brothers on a daily basis. She has 2 older brothers and a host of cousins! She also has 2 nephews who are amazingly adorable. Jocelyn was born and raised in Chicago, but did spend some time in Oklahoma as a child due to her dad’s company’s relocation. While most of Jocelyn’s family still lives on Chicago’s south side, she has family in Georgia and Virginia as well.
Chris was born and raised in the western suburbs. His family is small and tight-knit. Chris has just one sister, who is just a few years younger than him. She and her husband have one daughter. Chris’ parents live pretty close by, just 5 minutes away and can’t wait to welcome another grandchild!
We have many shared friends that we’ve met through work, high school, and college. Pre-Covid, it was typical for us to go out to brunches and dinners with our friends on a regular basis. Every summer, we also host a cookout for family and friends to all get together and enjoy each other’s company.
